Weekend Family Events for August 24-25

Welcome to the weekend! There’s lots going on, including the last weekend of the Capital Fair. Have you checked out my most recent blog post on the best fairs in the Ottawa area? If you haven’t yet, you can read it HERE. Here’s my list of what’s going on for the family on August 24-25.

Saturday:

Sunday:

  • Chesterville Fair – Chesterville Fairgrounds, 8:00 am – 5:00 pm (midway, animal shows, agriculture, live entertainment and food)
  • NOKIA Sunday Bikedays – Sir John A. Macdonald Parkway , Sir George-Étienne Cartier Parkway, Colonel By Drive, 9:00 am – 1:00 pm (car free roadways open to all on bikes)
  • Trainfest 2019 – Railway Museum of Eastern Ontario, Smiths Falls, 10:00 am – 5:00 pm (a celebration of all things trains, vendors and model exhibitors and train rides on the diesel engine)
  • Ottawa Lansdowne Farmer’s Market: Kids Market – Lansdowne, 10:00 am – 3:00 pm (the weekly farmer’s market will feature further entrepreneurs in a kids market, plus young vendors and buskers)
  • The Capital Fair – Rideau-Carleton Raceway, 11:00 am – 8:00 pm (midway, monster trucks, agriculture, medieval fair, food and more)
  • Ottawa Palestinian Festival – Marion Dewar Plaza, Ottawa City Hall, 11:00 am – 11:00 pm (showcases the cuisine, language, music, fashion, and dance of the Palestinians)
  • Capital Pride Parade – starts at Bank st and Gladstone Ave, 1:30 pm – 3:30 pm (marching contingents, floats, live music, kings and queens, and more)
  • Dog Yoga and Dog Swim – Dovercourt Wading Pool, 4:00 pm – 6:00 pm (Bring your pup (on leash!) to the outdoor pool for a fun time of activities and swimming for the pups plus Dog Yoga, lead by one of a dog-loving yoga instructors at 4:15. free event)
